There are haters and detractors who will try and pull you down,
Who will lie and cheat and anger you, causing you to frown.
Don't listen, just ignore them,
They don't figure in your life.
Petty minded nastiness, all said behind your back.
What's the reason? Jealousy? Of something that they lack?

Grim reapers of your happiness, causing tears and pain,
Mind games that they play for the pleasure that they gain.

Criticism, ostracism, feeling no remorse or shame,
For all the hurt they cause you - to them it's just a game.
Don't listen, just ignore them,
They don't figure in your life.
It takes time to get over what has happened, that I know.
And there'll be others in your life, that will deal a similar blow.

They don't figure in your life.
Remember, hold your head high, for you've done nothing wrong
You've been the better person, they are weak, but you are strong!

So run toward your dreams and goals, who knows what you'll find.
Maybe a new friend or two, who are loyal, true, and kind.
