My Wish
My wish for life would simply be
That we all live in harmony
No fighting, back-biting, war or pain
I hear you groan - "Here she goes again"
I know this to be impossible
When some people can be so horrible
To one another needlessly
And I know it is not just at you or me
Why can't we all be more accepting
Of differing opinions and perceptions
Accept that we are all different
Instead of taking the road of resentment
De-friending, blocking, tit for tat
As adults we shouldn't be doing all that
I too am guilty I'm sad to say
But I don't like some people ruining my day
Misinterpreting and jumping to conclusions
Wrong assumptions about other's intentions
Comments often misconstrued
Sides taken, trouble brewed
People need to make up their own minds
And not be influenced by words unkind
Benefit of the doubt is what I embrace
Treat others with respect and grace
"No offence meant, and no offence taken"
Good rules to live by, unless I'm mistaken
We all know that the world's not fair
Peace and harmony can start right here
