Day 3 - Mandalayto Monywa via Pho Win Taung

We travelled by bus to visit the Kaunghmudaw Pagoda. This pagoda has a large spherical dome and looks fantastic. We then travelled on to the Chindwin River Reataurant for lunch, stopping on the way to photograph some very hard working ladies repairing the roads.

After lunch we travelled on to the Pho Win Taung Cave Complex. The caves were amazing, beautiful statues and lovely paintings on the ceilings and walls. Quite a large area of caves and ancient buildings and a few locals that agreed to be photographed.

On the way back to the hotel I took a photo out the back of the bus of a range of hills that are being mined by China through an agreement made with the Generals when they were in charge of Myanmar. Shocking to see the hills almost flattened and almost difficult to imagine what they must have looked like before they were bulldozed.
