And this is where the magic really began. Salzburg is beautiful and it had recently snowed so everything was covered in snow.
We stayed a the Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron, at the Meierhof building next to the castle, but ate all meals in the state room of the castle. Such grandeur, and we were free to wander and photograph at our leisure. This is the hotel and lake in the movie "The Sound of Music".
The lake was frozen over when we arrived but it started thawing in the time we were there.
We took a day trip from Salzburg to visit Halstatt Village and Schloss Ort at Gmunden. We also spent another day exploring the Hohensalzburg Fortress located in Salzburg.
